I have a 2004 Truflat RCA 27" and the parental control is locked and I forgot my password and I can't unlock it. I can't find my manual and I have tried a couple of things I saw in other RCA manuels that said to press menu on the TV while pressing TV on the remote and a couple of other things but I still can not get it to unlock. Can you tell me how to unlock the Vchip/
I just bought the tv from a pawn shop and it has some kind of parental control or an FPA lock for the menu and we are unable to change the t.v. from mono to cable so we dont even get all of our channels. I needto find out how exactly i can get that control off and change me settings to cable nstead of mono. No owners manual came with the t.v. help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
If I knew the model number I could tell you where to find your manual. I'll give you a link to the website that can help find your manual at the end. If you haven't already tried here is another method that may work.
US V-Chip TV Rating Limit
The V-Chip TV Rating Limit lets you decide which TV programs can and cannot
be viewed.
To set TV programming limits:
1. Choose Parental Control from the MAIN MENU. If Parental Controls have
previously been locked, you must enter your password.
2. Highlight and select US V-Chip. Then select V-Chip TV Rating.
3. Once you get to the V-Chip TV rating limit screen, use the arrow buttons
and OK on your remote to change the status of a TV program rating or
content theme from View to Block.
4. For TV rating limits to take effect, lock Parental Controls by accessing the
Lock parental controls menu.
The following sections give you more details about how to change the status of
TV program limits.
Note: If you forget your password, follow step one above to get to the
password entry screen. Then press the VOL+ and CH+ buttons on the TV's
front panel at the same time for at least 8 seconds. You will receive an
on-screen message that Parental Controls have been unlocked once y
