I have Yahoo toolbar for HP and for AVG. Can I take the HP toolbar off and still access whatever I need from HP? I shall ask the same question of AVG. As I use Google, this makes 3 toolbars opening when I open internet explorer. I feel this is slowing access to the internet.
I use Windows XP.

All internet toolbars are useless, and they all slow down your PC. Uninstall them all.

Testimonial: "thank you for the affirmation that internet toolbars are not needed. I found that I can open with no toolbars by right clicking on the Google icon."

Why is avg my home page and not bt yahoo

Change it! There are many browsers out there and most of them are able to set a startup home page. It may have been bt yahoo, but after installing avg, it was changed by avg! this can sometimes be prevented by unchecking or checking certain boxes during the installation. BUT you can change it back in the browser you use. Look though the options, preferences, or whatever your browser uses for the user settings and change it from avg back to bt.

How to install avg security toolbar on the google chrome beacause i don't want my google chrome protected in virus

Hi booc dave,

This tool is available in all editions of AVG 2011. If you choose to install the toolbar during the installation of AVG, it will be added to Microsoft Internet Explorer and/or Mozilla Firefox.
The AVG Security Toolbar is a tool that works together with the LinkScanner component and checks the search results of supported Internet search engines (Yahoo!, Google, Bing, Baidu, Yandex, Ask.com, AOL, Seznam.cz).

I open Yahoo...the page opens, then when I click on mail..I only get a page with nothing downloaded. I need to access this email and am puzzled. Also have cleared and cleaned any viruses.

I had the same problem and took me 1/2 a day to get my yahoo email to work right. I disabled a toolbar or add on, and the next day, I had the same problem your having. Even after uninstalling and deleting that toolbar or add on out of my system. It wasn't until I deleted the toolbar or add on in my AVG start up menu did the problem go away.
After accepting toolbars or add ons and then later deleting or disabling them is what causes this problem. Some are search engines and will still be operating even though you have tried to get rid of it. That why when you connect with your email your not getting anything because, the search engine is chasing it's tail looking for what to do. All you can do is try to get such hang ups complete out of your computer system. First, by not downloading something your not going to want from being installed. Look and see what you may have installed, and tried to get rid of later.

I had to send my computer back to the factory and know I can't put Yahoo.com on my desktop or toolbar for easy access. What can I do?

Why can't you? That's absurd! If you run AVG anti-virus that toolbar is one they partnered with.
