New discs (memory cards) need to be formatted in the camera to work properly.

Mvc fd73 disc error

If this has happened with several floppy disks, then it is likely that the cameras' drive has failed. It is common in the FD73. There are several of that model on eBay right now. You can find them in Cameras and Photo, search fd73. A few are less than 50$, which is less than a replacement drive will cost to replace in your camera.

DISC ERROR

This means the the floppy disk drive has dirty the reader/recorder heads, or the heads are misaligned, or the floppy has a mechanical problem during the reading process.

You can start in blowing compressed air inside the floppy disk.

If it does not work, then the floppy drive will need to be serviced or replaced.

Can not put 3.5"disk into my FD85

This is an old model of Sony Movica and you can copy all floppy disk pictures in computer.

In your camera floppy drive is defective and requires replacement but floppy drive of MVC-FD85 is not available any more. So bet a new digital camera and think MVC-FD85 is history now.

Sony MVC-FD75

Not good, you will need a replacement floppy drive for the camera. It is a common failure point on the Mavica series. Sorry, no easy fix

Drive error

This is an early floppy drive model yes? Drive error could refer to corrupt floppy disc or a failure of the drive. Check the disc angle first - new disk formatted to camera. If it is not that - then buy another camera A repair I guess will not be an option -but checkout Sony first.
