I am having problems with the sony mvc-fd73. It keeps showing disk error when I put the floppy disk in.I was given the camera and I bought new disks for it. They are the right ones but it continues to say disk error when I put them in.

you have to open the menu and choose to reset. There is not much settings to reset though. What is your problem.. might be other solutions if you have one.
If this has happened with several floppy disks, then it is likely that the cameras' drive has failed. It is common in the FD73. There are several of that model on eBay right now. You can find them in Cameras and Photo, search fd73. A few are less than 50$, which is less than a replacement drive will cost to replace in your camera.

This is an old model of Sony Movica and you can copy all floppy disk pictures in computer.
In your camera floppy drive is defective and requires replacement but floppy drive of MVC-FD85 is not available any more. So bet a new digital camera and think MVC-FD85 is history now.
