If this has happened with several floppy disks, then it is likely that the cameras' drive has failed. It is common in the FD73. There are several of that model on eBay right now. You can find them in Cameras and Photo, search fd73. A few are less than 50$, which is less than a replacement drive will cost to replace in your camera.

you have to open the menu and choose to reset. There is not much settings to reset though. What is your problem.. might be other solutions if you have one.
It is very hard to find the repair manual. Have you got it ? I repaired my old FD-75 just by open it and disassembly the shutter button swith, cleaned and re-assembled. It works after more than a year without use.
This means the the floppy disk drive has dirty the reader/recorder heads, or the heads are misaligned, or the floppy has a mechanical problem during the reading process.
You can start in blowing compressed air inside the floppy disk.
If it does not work, then the floppy drive will need to be serviced or replaced.

This is a CCD sensor problem and should be replaced. Try to have it done free of charge by Sony even though your camera is an old model because CCD sensor should last 10 years +.
