I would say it is in the Hibernation Mode To get it out of this mode you need to go to your Control Panel, open "POWER OPTION'S" and deselect the Hibernation mode then reboot.

Am using Win XP When I turn the pc on with recovery disk inserted the Press Any Key to boot from cd" screen comes up but pressing any key does not get a response then it continues on to the sign in...

OK! Lets troubleshoot this together.

First thing we want to do is verify that your keyboard & mouse and plugged into the correct places and are powered up and able to work.

Turn your computer on and look at your keyboard and tell me if any lights are on to show that it has power and is operational.

Watch the keyboard lights until the computer gets to the login page and tell me if the lights come on and stay on? Or do the lights turn on for a moment and then turn off again?

If you do not see any lights, please clarify if there are NO LIGHTS on your style of keyboard or if there are lights but they are not lighting up.

If your keyboard has lights and they are not lighting up at all, then turn off the computer and unplug the mouse and keyboard and swap them around. Then turn the computer on again and tell me if the lights come on and the mouse and keyboard become operational.

Once we verify this we can continue to the next step of troubleshooting. Please report what you find and I will help you solve this.

The cursor on my pc freezes..

Temporary Solution

1) Click Start, then Click Control Panel

2) Double Click Mouse

3) Enable the cursor trail

You will be able to see your mouse, even after the original cursor freezes on screen.

Steps that can fix the problem.

This may also solve your problem. ONLY do if you are sure that you know how.

1) Right Click on MyComputer icon. Then Click Properties.

2) Click on Hardware Tab, then Click on Device Manager.

3) Uninstall your mouse AND keyboard. Connect your mouse directly to the USB.

Then reboot your computer (restart) and let the mouse reinstall automatically.

Keep your computer in shape and you will have less problem

Can't seem to unlock numbers.. tried FN key and nothing there is no numlock key

There is no NumLock key on that keyboard. But you can switch it off by accessing the Windows on-screen keyboard. XP - Start - all programs - accessories - accessibility - on screen keyboard. The keyboard appears on screen with a NumLock key. Vista - smiliar commands to get the keyboard up.

Logitec V270 bluetooth mouse freezes

I found no solution but plenty of similar complaints on the V270 on other than just Vista machines. I will suggest finding another model mouse and check it for Vista compatibility before buying.
I am using a Logitech M-RBB_DEL4 mouse made for Dell, it's bluetooth and works flawlessly on my XP machine along with the keyboard it came with. I will try the one I just ordered on my Vista machine when the BT Keyboard and Mouse arrive.
