Try first going to start button > Run (search) > type in the text box msconfig When the window comes up, choose selective startup > go to the startup tab and look through the entries for adobe air and uncheck the box. While you are in there, you can uncheck any other program that you don't need to "startup" when windows starts up. The main players in startup are the anti-virus programs, wireless utilities etc. These you want to start. Hit apply and exit out. Reboot later, we have one more stop first.

Now go to control panel > administrator tools > services. Look through the services for Adobe air or something similar. double click on it and it will open a window where you can change the programs settings. You can disable, start, stop etc. If you find the air program here, click on the drop down list and select disable, click apply and ok. Now reboot and see if that clears it up.

I have the same problem. I followed the first part of this and disabled the startup in msconfig but I cannot see any administrator tools or services option in control panel. I am running Vista. Could it be called something else?

Java flash installation black screen

Hi Susan. I'm going to ask you to completely uninstall Adobe Flash and reinstall it as the latest version.

To Uninstall Adobe Flash Player:
  1. Download the Adobe Uninstaller below http://download.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/support/uninstall_flash_player.exe
  2. Exit all browsers and apps that use Adobe Flash.
  3. Run the installer that you just downloaded.
  4. Verify Adobe was uninstalled by restarting your PC, opening your browser and going to Flash Player Help, and clicking on "Check Now".
Adobe Flash Player should now be completely uninstalled.

To Install Adobe Flash Player:
  1. Visit Adobe Install Adobe Flash Player and click "Install Now".
  2. Close all apps and browsers running Adobe Flash and run the install program.
  3. After running the install, visit Flash Player Help and click "Check Now".
  4. Your Flash version should now be displayed along with your browser and OS.
You should now be able to watch YouTube videos without any problems. I hope this information helped you solve your problem. If it did, please consider voting for this answer. It is greatly appreciated.

Reinstalling Adobe AIR

You can just click on 'Start', click on 'control Panel', the 'add or remove programs, or for windows 7 ( 'uninstall program'). It will provide a list of programs on the computer, look for Adobe AIR,, click on it and click the button either 'change/remove' or 'delete'. Once ADOBE air has been successfully removed, go onto the adobe website and install the latest version of adobe AIR. Hope this helps.

My abode flash player dont work

I would suggest to re-install it. First you have to remove it. Go to Control Panel, then click on Add/Remove programs (or Programs and Features if Windows 7). Completely remove all adobe flash player relative software (Adobe flash player, Adobe flash player plugin etc.). Then download and install from Adobe site here. Good luck

I have been trying to install adobe flash player on my hp pavillion for safari yet when i try to get it to download it says i have to close safari how is it that i must install it then??

Adobe Flash Player will only install when Safari is not running. This is normal. Adobe Flash Player uses a separate installer that will install Flash independently.

Get the flash player at this web site:

http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

I hope you find this information helpful.

I have uninstalled the adobe flash player and rebooted then reinstalled and i still cannot get it to run It shows up on the list of programs as adobeflash player 10x but it does not show any place where...

When you uninstalled, did you use the Adobe Flash Player Uninstaller?

You have to manually remove it with the Adobe Tool.

Removing it from Add/Remove Programs won't do it.

After you have used the Adobe tool, then install the latest version of Adobe Flash Player.
Also make sure that your anti-virus program is not blocking the download.
