Very! It is soldered into the motherboard on very fine tracks. It might also be difficult to get the right sized jack for this.Unless you have a desoldering kit and a needle point tip for the soldering iron you wilol have trouble doing it. Also if you overheat it with the iron it will damage the circuit. Best to have a professional try it.

Hewlett Packard Compaq Presario CQ56 power/charge light blinking orange & will not charge. I replaced the charging unit but it is dtill not charging. What could the problem be?

You need to get the DC Power Jack Either Repaired or replaced...this is the "female" port where your AC Power cord plugs into.. To Repair the current DC Jack...First you'll need to look closely at the Positive posts to see that they are not broken.. If visibally ok.. then you can look at the Solder Connections.. they will need to first be Desoldered.. Cleaned, then Resoldered back in place.

Sometimes the Adapter Charges other times Doesnot, and now finally out, cant charge!

Possible cuase:
1 AC adapter failure
2 Power jack failure

First replace it with another working charger, see if the problem gone. If not, there may be strong possibility that the power jack was broken.

Here below are some common symptoms of a bad charger.
-The laptop only runs when you keep the power cord in a certain direction.
- The laptop only runs on battery power.
- The laptop will not charge the battery.
- The laptop switches from AC power to battery power intermittently.
- The unit suddenly shuts off
- Sparks come out of the back of the laptop.

Ac power problems

For $75.00 bucks I wouldn't even open it up... lol Thats a good deal if they do a good job. Thats a fair price too I charge like $65 - $80 and hour depending on what is being done. remembering of course we often in actuality often work on something for 6 hours, and only charge 2 - 3, because a job is worth what a job is worth.

Spc340 fails after 30 seconds. Is there a battery to replace ?

it sounds like the charging jack in the cradle has gone bad they can be fixed, you have to disassemble the mount and the resolder the jack, it is a difficult task i would rate it about a 9 to a 9.5 out of 10 on difficulty scale, more than likely it will not be worth the frustation to repair, vs replace.
