When I turn on my RoadMate I get a black bar that moves across the screen then it just freezes like that. All that I get is the Magellan name and the black bar. How do I fix this. The thing has hardly been used and is only 5 months old.
Reset unit, and then turn off, but hold power button for at least 10 seconds, then power back on, and when ever you turn off unit, hold power button for 10 seconds, had the same problem with mine, this solved it, it seems that just turning off the unit till screen shuts down puts it in a sleep mode. Hope this solves your problem.

Mine is functional, but it seems stuck in a location from several months ago. I can't get it to recognize where I'm at currently. Need to know how to get it unstuck and to recognize where I'm at now.
