Instead of just changing boot order, what i always do if i have issues is to remove all options except cdrom. that way there is nothing for it to look for except the cdrom drive, if you are still having issues, and have the option to do it from a usb drive, you can copy the xp cd to a drive and set it up that way, i had issues installing win7 on cd, and used the usb option flawlessly, hope that helps, and good luck :)

Trying to put win 7 on hard drive says no bootable device insert boot disk and press any key put in boot disk and nothing

if you have win 7 on a disc and you want to put it on the hard drive , try this
on start up hold down alt+ delete to get into bios
change the boot up from hard drive to cd as primary start up boot up
put the disc in a cd and close it down
restart and the pc should then boot from the disc in the cd drive
you should be able also to simply put the disc in the cd, go to computer , click on the cd drive and run and that should put the win 7 on the hard drive
talk with a computer shop for other ideas as to how to do it if that doesn't work

Selected boot device is not available

What are you trying to boot from? It sounds like you selected something other than your hard drive.

When you power on the computer take note of which key it says to hit to Change the Boot Order or Boot Sequence and hit that key. This is a one time change that will get you booted up. You should select your Hard Drive to boot from.

To make the change permanent you will have to get into you Bios or System Setup. Reboot the computer and notice what key it says to hit to get into the Bios or System Setup then hit that key. When it opens up, hit the tab that lets you change the boot sequence or boot order then save it and exit out. Normally you want the DvD/CD drive 1st and the Hard Drive 2nd. This way if your system has problems you can insert a repair disk or operating system disk to fix it in the drive. The only drawback is that you need to make sure nothing is in the CD/DvD drive when you boot up (such as a music cd or movie dvd) or you will get a message telling you that it can't boot from the device.

If you like, you could just make the Hard Drive as your first boot device.

What can I do to fix this problem, my gr 500 is telling me to reboot and select proper device or insert boot media in selected boot device

You need to go into your Bios or System Setup and change the boot order or boot sequence. It sounds like you might be trying to boot from a Network or Lan. It could be that you are trying to boot from the CD drive but instead of having a operating system disc in the drive you might have a movie or music cd in the drive.

Reboot the computer and notice what key the screen says to hit to get into the Bios or System Setup and hit that key. Change your boot order or boot sequence. The best sequence is to have the CD Drive 1st and the Hard Drive 2nd. Changing this in the bios or system setup will make the change permanent. Just make sure when you boot the computer that nothing is in the CD drive unless you have a repair disc or operating system disc in it.

You could make a temporary change but then you will have to change it every time you boot. If you notice the screen when you boot it also gives you the key to hit to change the boot order or boot sequence. This will allow you to change it just for this time that you are booting.

When i press power on; F2 set up and F12 boot options appear and nothing else happens and i dont know what to press next for ti to start up.

Are you trying to reinstall your OS? Or just trying to boot to normal mode?
If the first is your case, you have to choose booting with CD drive in order for your system to boot on your CD Installer.
However, if the second is your case, you don't need to press F2 and F12 after powering on. If you encounter this without your BIOS changed, try reverting it back to BOOT on HARD DRIVE. That is when you are in the BOOT OPTIONS, select HARD DRIVE and press ENTER.

Manual for instruction setup key windows xp software ,pls help me to do it my self ! what key to boot or format windows xp i am trying do doing this formating about 4 day ago but still not successful.what...

Follow these steps and ia sure you will be able to boot by yourself:-
1)Change the BIOS boot order so the CD or DVD drive is listed first. Some computers are already configured this way but many are not.
2)If the CD or DVD drive is not first in the boot order, your PC will start "normally" (i.e. boot from your hard drive) without even looking at what might be in your disc drive.
3)Insert your bootable CD or bootable DVD in your disc drive.
4)Restart your computer.
5)Watch for a Press any key to boot from CD or DVD... message.
6)When booting to a Windows setup CD/DVD and many other bootable discs, you may be prompted with a message to press a key to boot to the disc. To boot to the CD or DVD, you'll need to press any key on your keyboard (like the space bar) within the few seconds that the message is on the screen.
7)If you do nothing, your computer will check for boot information on the next boot device in the list in BIOS which will probably be your hard drive.
8)Some bootable CDs and DVDs do not prompt for a key press and will start immediately.
Your computer should now boot from the CD or DVD disc.

I can't boot up normal, safe mode, or to the cd-rom on my dell dimension 4600 desktop, i've set to boot to cd rom in bios, but still nothing

If you are trying to boot off an Windows Installation disc then you might have a problem. On some computer the CD-ROM drive won't be able to read the operating system disc.

The solution to this issue would be to put in a DVD drive and try to boot from that.

More details on the normal and safe mode boot attempts would be nice too. Are you getting a blue screen or is it just hanging up?
