Go to command prompt type CHKDSK/F,hit enter,Then type Y,hit enter,then type exit hit enter.restart computer and it will fix all corrupted files.
Sounds like the soundcard driver is bad, or the soundcard is....

Can you turn it up from the keyboard? Normally a (blue) fN key plus someother key to turn it up or down.
