My black copies have a white line running thru the words about every 6 lines. My colored photos also have lines in them. I followed the instructions on cleaning the heads. I just put new Dell ink in, but it hasn't helped.
I have the exact problem. I have cleaned the heads, done alignments, replaced cartridges, shaken it (as suggested by one website !) sanded the rollers in case it was a feeder problem. Nothing has worked for me. Have you found a solution yet?? Thanks, JadeeI have the exact problem. When I take into account the effort you've taken to ensure that your printer's consumable hardware is not at fault, I think it is safe to say that the problem lies in corrupt communication between your PC's operating system and your printer.
Since correct communication between a PC and a device is the function of the device's driver, and seeing as to how a driver may become corrupt over time by normal operations performed on a PC (like installing and uninstalling other software, drivers and services) I suggest you
If this doesn't solve your printer's output problem, it would seem that a non-consumable component of your printer is malfunctioning and a swap under warranty or purchase of a new printer must be considered.
Hope you find these worthy guidelines to solving your printers' printing problems and thanks for using the FixYa service Kind regards

Run a self clean on the printer a jet may be clogged. print a test page to see if problem persists. If ink is low put a piece of electrical tape over the sensor of the ink cartridge and try again.
Remove all cartridges, make sure any tape has been removed from over the nozzle. Ensure that everything has been installed properly, then use your printer (prompts on device, or in printer>control panel) to print some test pages, realign heads, etc.
Probably what happen is that you are printing black and white but you have your printer on color mode, try to set the printer to grayscale or black and white before print. The printer is tring to get the black and white by mixing all three color, that is the most comon way of make black, so, when one of the color is missing you see those red lines.
Also you will solve the problem replacing the color cartridge.
The white line or lines are NOT caused by the fuser. A defect "line" in the fuser would cause the symtom of the print rubbing off the page but not blank lines on your copy. First we need to separate your copy quality issues. This machine uses 4 drums, 4 developer units and a transfer belt. Most copy quality issues will reside in 1 or more of these units. Lets start with a few questions. 1)Are your copy quality issues ONLY on color copies? or are the black and whites poor too? 2) Are you running copies only thru the document feeder or have you made any copies from the glass?
Are you printing on the copier from your computer?
A line down a paper on either a printer or scanner is classic sign of scratched drum. The certainty of it is in the fact the line is at the same place each time. Drum needs to be replaced.
Hey :), I'd be happy to help. To make a copy you must lift the lid and lay down the item you want copied. And then on the side of the printer you will see a line of buttons , to copy the item you want, you have to let the printer know if you want the copy to be in black and white or color .To let the printer know of you want the copy to be in black and white or color, you have to select/press between the black ( black and white ) button in the line of buttons or the color button. Once you press wither of these buttons/options , the printer will automatically start the coping process. thanks! I hope this helps :)
