The color wheel was broken so I changed the color wheel and bulb. It was lighting before and now the lamp light flashes and the high temp light goes on.

You need to go back and check every plug in the area that you were working in as thev plugs can come lose part way very easy! you should go back one by one using your hands and check every plug for the proper seating into the connector. Good Luck!!!! Larry Dillon (AKA Techman)

it sounds like your color wheel is defective. This can be easy depending on your level of repairing. you will have to remove the light engine to check it. the color wheel is located in the light tunnel itself. if it is broken you will see the colored segments in pieces. the color wheel number is located on the ribbon. with some of these models you may have to order a new or used light tunnel with the color wheel. I am pretty sure this is the right one i have for sale the numbers dont have to match exactly but they use the same color wheel. here is my ebay item number 130486082582 just do a search on ebay. If the numbers in pic 3 are the same then you can use the whole part.
Sound like ur tv have two problems. The "lamp"LED light flashes, mean ur tv need a new projection bulb. The loud refrigerator sound, mean the tv colors wheel is dead,it spinning off of it axes motor.Hire a tv repairman to do this the colors wheel is hard change, because require take out many machanicals parts even to get to the colors wheel to change. The bulb is easy replaced, but he there pay him to put new one in.
Had similar problem. Thought it was the lamp. Examined old lamp but it appeared to be good. Ordered a new one anyway. Changed the lamp but the TV screen would not come on. It would make the usual noise as it was going to come on normally but it would cycle 3 times & then turn off. The LED lights in the front panel would indicate a defective lamp. Then read about the ballast. Changed the ballast & still same problem. Tried starting the TV without the lamp installed & noticed that the color wheel did not spin. Removed old color wheel & discovered it was broken. This appears to be the cause of all of my problems. I wish I new earlier of the test-turn on the TV without the lamp being installed & check to see if the color wheel is spinning. Would have save money on the lamp & ballast.
if you have a dlp with the 267888 color wheel, the wheels cant be replaced as RCA no longer makes them. If you use one of the other type color wheels you can get a replacement at the following link. They would need the model number of your set as The D52W19 isnt a dlp and doesnt have a color wheel. So just let them know what the model number of your set is. http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/
Samsung is notorious for having bad color wheels in their DLPs. Well lets just say they are like toasters, they only last a certain amount of time. If the color wheel isn't spinning or is broken, the set will power down almost immediately after you hit the button, you may not even hear the entire fire up jingle. Check the wheel, if you can see the bulb light up for that split second. Actually, check it whether the bulb lights up or not.
The color wheel is not the problem. If the spinning color wheel is impaired in its RPMs it will cause picture distortion, not black and white picture. If the color wheel looses any of its color fins, like if it is broken, there will be a loud vibrating noise inside the tv which you did not mention. Also if the color wheel is broken and doesn't spin, the tv will not start up.
The likely problem is on the digital control board or the power supply and should be referred to a local repair shop for repair.
There is an outside chance that you will receive color if you experiment with using all of the different input ports to see if you can find one that will bring back color.
Your bulb is burned out. I have had the same problem. It seems this television has an overheating problem--and short bulb life. I have had our 50 Magnavox dlp for two years and just put in the second bulb before Christmas. You can buy the bulb from a dealer on ebay for $99 and install it yourself. I is not in the housing so you have to carefully take out 4 screws and replace the bulb without touching the face of the bulb. To buy the one from Magnavox with the housing is much more expensive. I think the first time my husband replaced the bulb it took about 45 minutes--this time it took about 20.
