I have a magnavox tv that I can not find the codes to make the Cable reomote to work. Help. I have tried all the Cable companys codes with no luck. The TV is a Magnavox vhs/dvd combo unit. Not real old too.

Try using the search method for the remote. You might have different chassis manufacturers since there is no Company by Sylvania anymore. It's just a name. It could be Funia or maybe Daewoo.

When you program the unit, have the TV off, it is probably interfering. If possible, have the front of the cable box behind the TV. I was also told by the cable company to take the lens out of a cheap pair of sunglasses and tape it over the reciever on the cable box. This will block the interference from the TV. Haven't tried it. I have a Toshiba LCD and having it off while programming the reomote to the Motorla cabel box worked.

I found this solution in another posting: use sylvania cable box code 3403.
I haven't tried it yet, but it's worth a try!

with this remote, press tv, then setup waiting for lcd (if there is one to flash twice. enter code. try to shut off tv. then turn it on and then back on hoping you have the right code. I have a 1993 magnavox and i am going to go through the codes again. 1454 worked the best but not everything. Good luck.
ps-i do not have a universal but a one from urcssupport.com so i am going there next. The booklet has hundreds for tvs, vcr, dvds.

The Emerson DVD code work work for Magnovox. (I used 447) I figured this out since I have both DVD player and the one remotes always interfers with the other.

The remote code for magnavox dvd/vcr dual player is, 21593. It work for me..
