My air conditionner wall units stop after 20 minutes and the light on the unit flash. the air dock is normal and we also clean the plower. I wonder if it is normal. Last year it was not like this.
When the unit is on, go on the back side of the wall where the unit is
mounted. If this is a split system find the condensate hose and make sure it is not plugged and is draining.
If this is a window unit again go in the backside of the wall and see if it
is dripping there. If it is not, take the unit out of the wall, remove the top
and wash underneath the coils. Install the unit so it slants to the back.
The leakage is probably from condensation and there should be some sort of drain for it. You should check to see if it is clogged or partially clogged. Also since you say it does it when it hasn't operated for a while you may want to check out where the lines pass through the wall and make sure that it is sealed up there so you don't get leakage from out side.
This unit is use in motels etc. Check the ouside coil ( conderser) from the inside (discharge fan ) for dirt. Most of these units are floor level . This can cause a unit to short cycle ( cold air is at the floor) .
1) The unit is not hanging level (assuming this is a wall mount, through the wall, or window unit), or 2) The condensate drain or trough to the drain is plugged/clogged/filled with trash.
during Cooling and Dry modes, if the unit is used under conditions of lower temperature (18C) the heat-exchanger may freeze, leading to water leakage and other damage. If the unit is used for long periods under high-humidity conditions, condensation may form on the surface of the indoor unit, and drip onto the floor or other objects underneath. (About 80% or more)
