Installation of LG 192WS using VISTA

I just installed an LG 192WS. If it is working, do I need to use the installation disk for anything? How do I know if it is working at its best? How do I change the resolution or check the resolution? I don't know what to do because the new monitor is on.

Get a new video card, you dont need the best video card to support 1440*900. It is affordable and the best solution.

i think you have problem with your graphics card. restart your computer and then before starting to windows press F8 to set your settings to safe mood, after booting up to windows restart the system again.if the problem persist reinstall the software drive of your graphics card if you have it.

For help on the Blue screen of Death see my tip here:

Judging by the fact that you get the BSoD every time you change monitor settings I suggest that you should update your video drivers.

Easy set package won't open. Monitor Driver won't install.

Hi mquinhoneiro,

I got the same problem. Probably there is something with EasySet Package. First time I installed driver + easyset like instruction said a I got "osd locked".

My solution:

1. Unistall your ati/nvidia driver with control panels
2. restart computer
3. you monitor probably will display 640x480 standard resolution
4. system recognise your vga card and install standard driver
5. restart
6. install lg driver depend on our monitor and connection
7. then should work. if not
b) install again but this time when you press install hold for 10 seconds  menu button.
8. update driver from nvidia/ati site.

For me this help but easyshare wont install again. But I don't use it .

Anyway monitor is good for the price but have little "cool" colors (perhaps from blue lcd led).

My configuration for ~6500k setting

gamma 0
red 55    ( 60 if you want more red)
blue 55   (45)
green 55  (45)
brightness 48 saturation 70

I cannot get it to install on Vista, is there a problem?

Could you mention the computers configuration on which you are trying to install windows Vista and what error or symptoms you are getting when you try to install Vista

Vista installation can fail
1. If memory (RAM) is bad
2. Hdd is corrupt or has bad sectors
3. Optical Drive is Bad
Thanks for using fixya

I can`t to install the driver

Though you do not specify WHY you cannot install the driver, probable reasons, among many, are:
1) You need administration rights before you can install software. If this is the case, call your employer's support centre, if applicable, or log onto the machine using the Admin log on. If you're the person who installed or used the machine from first use, you are the Admin. If this is the case, then this is NOT the reason.
2) Your install CD may be deffective (remember, you did not say why you cannot install; I'm guessing).
3) You may need to uninstall the existing driver before you install the new one. This is how you do it:
Assuming you're running Vista, click on an empty area of your desktop and right click with the mouse. From the ensuing menu, select and click Personalize. Next, select Display Settings and then Advanced... Next, go to Monitor->Driver tab. Click on either the Update Driver or Unistall. The first one will ask you for the location of the driver. Point the utility program to your installation CD and continue the installation.
If you chose Uninstall, then close all windows and running programs, and restart your machine by switching power off and turning it back on.
After Windows has started, repeat the installation steps from your CD. It should work, provided the disc is also Ok.
Good luck!

Plz help me

Yahoo may just be having server issues if the rest of your internet seems to be running fine.

Try re-downloading later on once they may have solved the issue. Remember there are plenty of other messenger programs compatible with the Yahoo messenger system.

I have LG 700S 17" Monitor

Try tapping f8 when you start your computer and when at the MS startup menu choose
  • Enable low resolution video (640x480)
  • and if windows starts update your video driver and that should fix the problem, when you restart more than once the options go back to default (not low res video, whatever video driver is installed)

Was having problems with my vx922 lcd display.

Sounds like my problem that I fixed by sending back for repair.
I read that these VX922 monitors are affected by dodgy capacitors on the power board.
I had the monitor for over 2 years. Viewsonic picked it up, yep u guessed it... changed 2 caps on the powerboard sent it back all within 2 days, under warranty. I got my awesome monitor back. Its all good!

    Blurred pictures on monitor

The problem is not the monitor, it is the display adapter (Video card) of your system needs a valid Vista driver. (NVidia, ATI and Intel are the 3 largest Graphic card manufacturers) Monitor drivers are almost never needed except on some advanced large LCDs.

You said up upgraded to Vista, did you use a Vista upgrade DVD or just perform a clean installation of Vista? Have you installed Vista Chipset drivers? The chipset and Graphics drivres may not be native to Vista, you may need to install them.
