Problem with new installed printhead

I just installed a new printhead on my okidata 320 and there is not printing in ink. I changed the ribbon and I still have no ink. Any ideas?

Freetek is correct. If you look at the printhead/ribbon assembly from the front of the printer the head gap adjustment is on the right rear corner.

Settings are:

1 for 1 or 2 part paper
2 for 3 or 4 part paper
3 for envelopes or extra thick paper

Thanks for using Fixya.

If I remember the 320, there is a head-gap adjustment that is normally moved for replacement of the head and must be reset again. Check your manual for that term; 'Head gap adjustment'

My Okidata 320 microline print cartridge is leaking ink. What does this mean?

The Okidata Microline 320 uses a ribbon. If it smears, just back the tension lever off until it goes away. Smearing will happen with multi-part forms unless you back off the printhead.

Hi oki 320 turbo printer started to print very light ,i want to change the ink ,but i do not know where to put the ink ,please help

There is now ink in the machine. You just have to replace the print ribbon. This is the small black box that is mounted to the printhead.

I just changed the printer head and there is no ink coming out of the new printhead.

There is a thin ribbon connected from the printer to the print head. Remove it and re-insert in again. If the end of the ribbon looks dirty, you can use the pencil eraser to clean (erase) it.

Okidata printing problems

It probably needs the shaft that the printhead moves back & forth on cleaned and oiled, or the printhead is overheating, or the ribbon is jamming up (generic ribbons do this a lot !)

If none on the above fix the problem, make a note as to what lights are on steady and flashing and post them. (That is the error code)

Okidata microline 320- having menu problems

Menu Light flashing is a printhead thermister overheat problem.
Power off the printer and try reseating the print head; if this fails you'll need to replace the print head!

Your printhead is in correctly but not aligned, Please loosen the 2 screws that holds the printhead.Remove ribbon(all this while the printer is powered off) Now look on the right side there is a lever that makes the printer go closer to the ribbon ,move the lever to number 9 and move the head over to the left side of the printer.push the head forward slightly towards the black roller and tighten the 2 screws again ,install the ribbon and move the blue lever to 1 and try printing again.

Okidata 320/420 printhead not printing aligned.

Clean the large silver rod that runs through the carriage. It is dirty and not allowing the carriage to move as freely as it should. Ideally it should be left dry. Also change the ribbon. The same motor drives the carriage and the ribbon. If it has a bind, the same thing can happen. Hope it helps Ed
