My t30 doesnot recognizes the extra memory i just installed

    How much did you install and what kind? It is possible you installed the wrong type.

Hello

The following may be the reasons for the non detection of your extra memory.

  • The total memory exceeds the compatible limit of additional memory. So check the limit of extra memory that you can put in.
  • The additional memory is not properly installed. Remove the memory and install it again.
  • If you are using 32bit operating system try 64bit OS.
These steps will hopefully solve your problem.

Check that you have used the corect memory. Often you MUST remove the original to install matched memory cards when upsizing, rather than just adding a card. Also there may be incompatibilities of some memory and your machine.

Yes, you system will support up to 1GB of ram, so, if i were you i would suggest that you buy a 1GB chip, this will give you the best performance upgrade. And, ram is so cheap at the moment, so, i think it will be the best option.

My ibm t 30 type 2366 does not recognize a new 512kb memory chip i added to my existing 512 kb. but the system still shows memery at 512 only. how can i make it to recognize.
you must purchase the same memory speed. e.g if your original memory is 512mb 667mhz you should purchase the same description.

Iriver T30 is not recognized by my windows xp
It should only need a new driver installing. If the Iriver came with a disc of drivers you can use that or search on-line for a driver for it.
If you can't find one remove it completely from the system and then reinstall it.

Video memory error. The BIOS cannot write to the frame buffer memory on the video card. Since the frame buffer memory is on the video board's memory chips then you will have to replace the entire board.

Hello my friend if is not something visual(like unconnected soldering pins on the motherboard)then you can not do anything else than change your motherboard.But if you compare the two slots and you see difference then you can connect this tire or pins with soldering gun.

The problem is with the motherboard slot for the memory.

Just purchased 2 512 RAM. installed both but T30 recognized only one. I switched slots and same result. Is there an easy fix? If BIOS needs updated how hard is it? There is no floppy drive on this unit....
sounds like defective ram if it is still in warranty take the ram back and get a replacement using the warentee
