HAVE A BROTHER COPIER MODEL # 8045D WITH ERROR CODE OF "A 6" WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?

Error 6A is a fuser failure error. You will need to replace the fuser unit completely.
The part numbers are
For the 115volt model: LR1962001
For the 240volt model: LR1963001

The OEM number from Brother is TN540 for a standard cartridge and TN570 for a high yield cartridge (more toner)

Check out that the Scanner USB cable is connected to the PC apart from the printer Cable

I resolved the " Hex Dump Mode" problem
Step1: switch off power
Step2: press and hold Stop/Exit ( Red Color Key ) switch on power supply .......
now no " Hex Dump Mode" problem

The document cover (or lid) is the large part that you pull up (open) when you want to scan a single page using the "flatbed" part of the scanner instead of the automatic document feeder (AFD).

There may be something under the lid that is holding it up slightly open.

Lift the lid and close it...
It should work, now.

If NOT, Turn OFF, unplug from outlet, wait a few minutes and plug back in.
