I can't get my Samsung supra tv to change the input so that I can use my Chromecast .I don't have the remote and when I I tried to use my shaw remote ...it brought up the menu butg wouldn't do anything after tthat

You need to turn on closed captions through the menu of your PVR. To have it on all the time, turn the box off, press menu on the front of the box, and scroll down to captions.

Take the batteries off, press the button "0" for 1 minute, put the batteries back on, try it out.
