The flame sensor is typically defective. Or could be a gas valve problem.

SOURCE: stove top pilot light

I have a GE Gas Stove XL44 the stove top buners don't light by themselves without manual lighting. When I turn on the buner knob the buner doesn't click. Also I used my self- cleaning oven for the first time and stopped it before the time was up after that is when the stove top buners wouldn't light by theirselves.

SOURCE: Propane patio heater ignition problem

I would change the thermocouple and here is why:

The thermocouple is the pilot's, well, co-pilot! It is the electronic device that senses if the pilot flame is hot enough to sustain burning the gas fuel from the burner. If the thermocouple thinks it's safe, then it keeps open the main gas valve located in the pilot assembly. If the thermocouple does not sense enough heat from the pilot flame (such as when the pilot is out), then the thermocouple shuts off the gas valve to the burners.
How the Thermocouple Works
So what is this thing and how does it work? Well the thermocouple (technically called a thermocouple junction) is a device that contains two metal wires welded at the ends and placed inside a protective metal case. The thermocouple sensor is found at the business end of the pilot flame and is designed to be placed in the hottest part of the flame. The other end is connected to the pilot valve body. As the thermocouple heats up, it produces a small amount of electricity and when it gets hot enough from the pilot, send a signal to open the gas valve by using a solenoid operated by a 24 volt transformer. The thermocouple calls the shots, and by converting heat to an electrical signal, it allows the gas valve to open or close. Once the gas valve is open, gas is then constantly supplied to the pilot and as required for the gas burners (as called for by the thermostat). If the pilot goes out, then the thermocouple gets cold and produces no electric signal to open the gas valve's solenoid and the gas valve shuts off the gas supply to the pilot and burners

SOURCE: kozy world propane wall heater. The pilot light will work

Sounds like you have a common problem with infrared heaters. They are very dust sensitive and they will light and then go out when they are dusty. If you have already tried to blow it out at home you need to take the heater to your propane dealer who will take the heater apart and blow it out correctly. They will then hook it up to their gas line and make sure that the problem is fixed. I hope that you haven't blown up into the bottom of the heater where the gas line is connected. There is a diaphragm up in there and if you blow into it you risk messing it up to where it won't work at all.

Holiday propane stove pilot light goes out when turn on the burners

My first guess is there is a problem with the gas regulator. I would send this appliance out for repair. You can look at the pilot light and see if it was moved, altered or damaged. The flow of gas towards the pilot light should not affect it at all. Good Luck.

Kozy world propane wall heater pilot will not light

This can be caused by several things:

1. The inline gas valve running to the the heater is OFF. Turn the valve ON.

2. The gas control knob on the heater is not exactly in the PILOT position. Unless the knob bottoms
out and you feel strong pressure (other than spring pressure) pushing back at you. It's not exactly
in the PILOT Position. Once the pilot lights, hold the control knob in for 30 seconds to 60 seconds
to allow the Thermocouple to full heat.

3. The pilot is dirty and needs to be cleaned, as do the burners.*

4. The LP Gas Tank is empty or to low to maintain te proper gas pressure.

* Here is a link to a demonstration on how to properly clean the pilot & burners.

I smell gas and my burners wont light - is there a pilot light in these ranges?

The best way to find out if if your stove has a pilot light, is to lift the top panel of the range . The pilot will usually be located between the burners. Typically you will have two pilots. One for the left and one for the right. The pilot light will ignite with a match without having to turn the burner knobs to the "on" position. Good luck

How do you start the oven on a Hardwick propane range?

The bottom part of the stove in the front has a drawer you pull out which has a broiler tray located there. You should be able to fold the door down and use a flash light to look inside . You will find a pilot light set-up there.
The stove I have has the pilot gas on all the time, so as soon as you turn on the gas to the range, the pilot gas is open to atmosphere.
I just light a match and reach in to where the gas piping can be seen and the pilot flame will light.
There is only a small amount of gas coming from the pilot orifice, so there isn't any danger lighting it when the gas is first turned on at the tank.
In fact you may have to wait a few minutes for it to light at first because the propane line maybe full of air. I usually light the top burners of the stove first and by that time the pilot gas for the oven is ok to light.

Pilot light goes out

The Tstat has a capillary that looks like a thermocouple but it isn't, its a bulb with liquid that expands and contracts based on temperature. A pilot can go out due to a high limit switch being week or getting to hot and that can be shaped like a thermostat capillary or can be simply a disc with a button if even there is a high limit on your stove. There likely isnt. So see the next suggestion.
I suggest lighting the pilot, turning on the main burners while watching the pilot. If the pilot shrinks in size, then check your gas pressures before and after turning it on and seeing if there is a wide variation. I would suggest the pilot is dirty or the pressure regulator is faulty.

Propane not getting to oven... stove top works fine..

The pilot light must be lit and stay lit before you will have any propane coming into the oven. This is a safety feature.
