you can try a new lead or power supply. If it is internal just buy another monitor as not a DIY repair

You have a bad connection or break in the wiring. Fix that and your monitor will work properly. Could be the wire itself or the plug you use to plug into.

One thing you could try is unplugging and replugging the video cable from the monitor and from the computer, I have often found that fixes a blurry monitor.

make sure the video cable is inserted firmly. is it is, the video cable wires are loose inside the monitor which it is not getting the signal, telling it to go on standby mode.

Under normal circumstances, a computer monitor will not remain powered up if it is not receiving a signal from the cpu. Whether or not this is the problem in your case is difficult to say. First steps would be to check all the cable connections to the monitor and cpu, and if that doesn't solve the problem, try another monitor with your cpu to see if it truly is your monitor that is bad or if what you describe is just a symptom of a larger problem.
