My penguin 2 isn't cooling or heating. There is a slight smell that is coming from the vents. Any ideas whats wrong?

hmmm shaking may be a tune up issue and as far as the gas smell goes i would take it to the dealersdhip and have them diagnose it

I had the same problem in my 98 Dodge Dakota! Replaced the heater core, problem solved. No more funky coolant smell and erie fog coming through my vents. I bought the heater core at rockauto.com online. Have purchased many items now from them. All factory parts so far at half the price of even AutoZone, even with the shipping. Also, you usually have to wait only a couple of days depending on the part and they have EVERYTHING.

First, never add water to the reservoir, always add a 50/50 mixture.
If you smell coolant from the inside of car coming from the heater,it is the heater core and should be checked by someone that can replace it. If the car smells hot it could be a bad thermostat. If this has electric fans,have them checked also.

It sounds like a heater blend door issue inside the heater box that is actually not closing all the way to allow either cool or hot air or visa/versa.
