E 64 code on a Frigidaire affinity dryer, but still getting heat. What could be the problem?

I was told this was a problem with the heating element, but the dryer is still getting hot. It will run for a few mins then the code will pop up. If you resume the cycle, it will continue to run for several mins then stop. Since there is heat, could there be another problem?

That has three sets of coils in it,one of them is bad this is most likely why you still have heat,i've seen it a few times, change out the heater box,go here and look at the last picture, you'll see the three sets of coils one of them is broken, just order your heater box for your model number off of your dryer.change out the heater box

here's 2 ways to get into your dryer don't know what model you have you didn't send it but this should cover you, also like i said open the door to your dryer, look around the opening to see the tag with the model number on it,you need the number so you can order the correct parts for your dryer, usually an element has 2 connectors power comes in and out the other wire so if the element breaks you wouldn't have heat, your heater has 3 connectors so if one breaks you'll still have heat but the dryer isn't running hot enough so it will give you the error.if it was a t-stat you wouldn't have any heat, once they fail they won't work again.hope this helps you out and good luck

SOURCE: Dryer stops tumbling, but heating element stays on

Usually when an electric dryer overheats it's because of a defective cycling thermostat or a clogged vent system. Clean any lint from the internal and external ductwork, and/or replace the cycling thermostat

Replaced heating element now I get error E61, I ohmed out the thermostat on top of heating element seem to be ok

Hello Louie, I appreciate your inquiry!
Based off the information you have provided your Frigidaire dryer is displaying an error code of "E61" after you have replaced the element. An "E61" error code means that there could be an issue with your heater relay or main control board. You may need to seek additional assistance from a professional technician for proper diagnosis and repair. This will help you avoid any unnecessary part purchases. I hope this information is helpful to you. -Matt

I have an error code 64 on my dryer. I am out of work doing chemo right now. can anyone tell me what the problem is

If your Frigidaire Affinity dryer is beeping at you and giving you the "E64 CALL SERVICE" business, chances are you have a bad heating element. The good news is, with a screwdriver, a pair of pliers (a multimeter if you have one) and a new heater element you can fix this yourself and save a couple hundred bucks.

Below I outline a step by step process to do this on the Frigidaire Affinity, but this guide may help with other dryers, as they basically all function the same way.

A WORD OF CAUTION: You will be handling a lot of thin sheet metal components. Be careful as it is easy to cut yourself on them.

First you'll want to unplug the dryer. Then disconnect the vent hose and the water feed (if applicable). Be sure and shut off the water valve first, or you'll have a mess!

Heating element quit working on my frigidaire affinity dryer

If the unit still works, it just does not dry, please have a professional diagnose the heating element and the blower assembly. Either, or, could be faulty at this time. This is not a typical DIY job so please consult a professional.

Frigidaire Affinity dryer error code?

you have a problem with the heat you can't just say it's the element or thermistor you have to unplug it,take it apart and get in there with a meter and check all the t-stats,element thermistor,if they check good you could have a bad computer board but hopefully it will be the element but if you just bought it the dryer is still under warranty for the first year so either call whoever you bought it from or the 800 number off of the machine
