How old is your machine ? and what maintenance have you done over time such as replacing the shower curtain located at the pourring end of the hot water ? I had too very loud noise coming occasionnally from the stainless steel rack holding the cup while coffee is delivered. If your ground coffee is too fine it will stop flow during making a shot. Is water coming out when no coffee is placed in the portafilter. The water pump on this machine is a cheap pump that has to be replaced over time. Mine is 7 years old and has delivered four cups of expresso everyday of the year, and still working.
When you turn of the coffee switch after there should be a discharge into the water tank - if this happens - the solenoid is blocked but the pump is not.
It is an easy fix.
( This happens when the machine has not been descaled and the solenoid is blocked.)Usually its not the pump.! Vibration pump Gaggia SaecoGaggia classic solenoid
Hi, That loud noise is the pump, pumping without water running through it. Thats not good. Will do expensive damage to whole machine if let go. It needs flowing water to stay operating for a good life. Already sounds like an ECU board. It may only be trying to rinse itself, but is cloged, and cant get enough water into it. It needs to be looked at by a repairer. I can helpyou there if you live on the sunshine coast. Dazza
it seem the pump is not prying itself you have to inject water try with a turkey blaster the pump to put juice on a turkey fill it up with water start the machine inject the water in the water hole try that out let hope it work if not you have warranty good lock
