Powering on lights up power led immediately with one relay click then it goes through 3 sets of 2 relay clicks before 1 last relay click with power led still green. After, OPC and Power blink once together than 2 Power blinks before repeating. I did get the display to come back once by depressing keys when plugging in the power cord and it worked for several hours even powering off and back on. After powered off for more than an hour, it came up briefly before loosing the display and going back to the clicking and led light sequences. I cannot get it display again.

Actually, I have heard about this kind of a problem before too.

It's a power supply related problem. When it turns itself off, this it called protection mode. The TV automatically turns off to protect other parts form being damaged.
The most common problem is the Power Supply Unit or the Backlight Inverter Board.
You may have to take the TV to a repair shop to find out which one is bad. Paying a repair shop to replace the board for you maybe more than the TV is worth. If you let them diagnose it and you replace the bad circuit board yourself, it would be cheaper.

This problem very common in sharp tv.The POWER,OPC flashes.First turn on have power LED indicator light stable at all? Tries the power again couple times will have backlight come back on,than it will work.Not at all more than 5-6 times than ur main turner signal board is the problem,must replaced.
