Do you mean the photoconductor unit? To replace the photoconductor (PCU), open the front cover and the right side covers (the duplex door and the main side door). The PCU sits to the right of the toner bottle -- it is a black unit that has the blue cylindrical drum facing the right side of the copier.
On the upper left side of this unit is a ridged tab. Push this tab in and slide the PCU all the way out of the machine. Open the box with the new PCU and remove all of the tape and paper, then slide the new PCU in where the old one came out of. When you shut all of the covers, the copier will recognize the new PCU.
Turn the computer off.
Disconnect the power-cord.
Remove the side-covers.
Disconnect the "data" and the "power" cables from the back of the drive.
Look for screws on both sides of the DVD drive.
If there are any, unscrew them, and the DVD drive will slide out the front of the front face-plate.
If there are no screws, remove the front face-plate from the computer.
Then, squeeze the "drive-rails" on the sides of the DVD drive, to "unlock" it, and gently pull the drive out.
Reverse the wholel process to install the new DVD-drive.
You need to take off the face of the computer. There are six plastic tabs inside the computer that you can press down to remove the face. Once it's off, you can slide the drive out the front.

OK, solved it now, you need to remove the front instrument panel first. This is held in place by four plastic lugs, two top and two bottom, which you can see when you remove the top of the machine. It's a bit fiddly since you don't want to break the lugs but a bit of patience gets it off clean. Next remove the two pipes that supply hot and cold water from the rear of the dispenser and also another pipe which fits onto the side. There are three small nuts to remove that secure the unit to the front of the machine and then by pushing it backwards and too the side it will slide out easily. Lastly there is a pipe to remove underneath the unit and then it is clear. Simply reverse the process to fit a new unit.
