I lost my Sharp TV LC-32SB27U remote and I need to start reset. Are there directions to reset this TV manually without remote.

If both your front panel and remote control are disabled, the best option would be to perform a factory reset to restore the TV to its original settings.
To reset the Sharp LC-40LE830U to factory settings:

1. Unplug the TV from the power outlet and wait for at least 60 seconds.
2. Press and hold the power button on the TV for 5 seconds while the TV is still unplugged.
3. Plug the TV back in and turn it on using the power button on the TV itself.
4. Once the TV is turned on, press and hold the "input" and "volume down" buttons on the TV simultaneously for 5 seconds.
5. The TV will then enter the service mode menu.
6. Press the "menu" button on the remote control to navigate through the menu and select "option."
7. Select "factory reset" from the options menu and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the reset.

Note: The factory reset will erase all custom settings, including parental controls, picture, and audio settings.

The simple fix is stop playing with the side buttons and buy a new remote for $24 :>D If you really like playing with the side buttons, open the set up and spray the contacts behind the buttons with Switch Cleaner (NOT WD40).

I can't find a Sharp gi221-u remote control. Do you mean the Sharp GJ221-U? If so, the directions for using the Sharp GJ221-U remote control will be in the manual for a television that shipped with the remote. In this case, the GJ221-U came with several Sharp TV models, including the LC-43UB30U. The section on the use of the Netflix button (page 3-7, page 23 of the PDF) is extremely short. It is possible that pressing certain buttons will force the TV to change the current source. That will cause you to lose your place in Netflix, if the program isn't paused first. (I know that I can do this when I watch a program from my DVR and press a channel number button on the remote control.)

If that's the case, you may need to purchase a replacement on eBay, or purchase a universal remote.

Unfortunately, you can't access the menu system without a remote on the LC-37P55E. You'll need to find a universal remote with a Menu button and then you may need to try multiple codes to find one that lets the Menu button work correctly. Since the TV became available at Amazon UK in March 2006, you should look for a remote that was programmed in September 2006 or later to find one that is most likely to work with your TV. Some TVs has the manual control to menu down right, on frame. Did you check?
Else, only way is to get a GOOD universal remote. The one used for DirecTV has a control of SOURCE.

I went to SharpUSA online and read the manual and there is no mention of being able to reset without the remote. I guess you are using a universal remote at the moment. The manual does mention a default password that you can use if you forgot your password.

Just open the menu by using the universal remote control, and do the rest by using Up/Dn & Left/Right buttons at the the TV front panel.

I recommend selling the unit to a service provider for parts, checking with your homeowner's insurance to see if this is covered, and calling 800besharp to get a case file created and see if you can get a csr to transfer you to the dispatch department to see if you can get a 20% off code for another Sharp tv at Sharp direct.
