Mouse is not working - just installed batteries and USB - it worked briefly then stopped - i may pushed an incorrect function key? I did remove all batteries and reinsert the USB

Mouse may have lost pairing with the USB receiver. See manufacturer's support site and look for PAIRING. There's probably some peculiar sequence of mouse buttons to re-pair it.

Dell wireless mouse M787C batteries are wired in Parallel not in series...

Hello All, I just received a Dell All in One Computer with the M787c wireless mouse. I installed 2 fresh batteries and noticed after 3-4 minutes one of the batteries was getting warm? I removed that battery and the mouse LED light was still working. SO the M787c mouse was working as it should with only ONE Battery!
I checked wiring of the batteries and found that the Batteries were WIRED in Parallel. Wiring batteries in parallel is not a very good Electrical practice, at all!
I am sure that many owners of this mouse have gone through many batteries because of the miss wiring.
If you mouse does not work with properly with one battery if you are mechanically inclined you can disassemble the Mouse and rewire the batteries in SERIES.
There are 4 screws on the bottom of the mouse, 2 in the bottom underneath the front gliders, and 2 in the top. Happy fixing. Rob

Gigaware wired pc controller mouse

A wired mouse shouldn't have batteries. Look in system preferences un mouse and see if the mouse is there. If it is there then you can try opening the mouse and cleaning it. If it is not in sys prefs then either the mouse or usb port is dead.

How to insert batteries in 99914 mouse

Install the batteries (2 AA batteries) into the mouse. Locate the red laser light underneath the mouse. Next to the light, there is a small button that will require a small object, such as the end of a pen, to press. Press and hold this light for 3 seconds. You should observe several flashes of red light and then a steady red light when it is ready

Sometimes the batteries are bad (even if new), sometimes they were put in incorrectly (wrong direction) or not seated completely. Maybe there is a tiny reset button on the bottom you need to push after changing the batteries.

How do I change the batteries?

With most wireless mice...turn the mouse upside down, there will be a place to slide open the battery door. Be careful not to open it incorrectly or you could snap the little lock that keeps the batteries in.
