Washer will not drain:

Thedrain water pumpis the main part in your washing machine that pumps out the water. If this is defective or has failed in any way, this will be the reason why your washer will not drain the water. Before you order a new drain pump, make sure tocheck the pump to be sure a small object like clothing or similar has not lodged itself insideof it causing the NO DRAIN issue and even a no spin issue?. If the drain pump is not clogged, you can test it with a multimeter and remove and replace if needed. Go to Google or YouTube and search for "Replace Washing Machine Drain Pump" then type your brand and model number of washer to show you details on replacement.

The washing machinedrain hoseis where the water flows through to get the water out.If this drain hose is blocked, kinked, bent, or clogged, the washer will NOT be able to remove the waterfrom the tub. Check the drain hose to be sure it allows the water to flow freely. You can take the drain hose off and run water through it in your sink to be sure it is not blocked. If there is water STILL in the washer when you remove the drain hose, grab a bucket as the water will exit from where you disconnected it
Thewater pump belt(to drain out the water) may have broke or become frayed or loose. If this belt breaks then it is unable to drain and remove the water from your washer. Inspect the belt to see if this is causing theNO DRAINissue and remove and replace if needed.

If thelid switchis not working as required it will cause your washer to not drain (and many other problems). This may be unlikely as a bad lid switch will usually cause your washer to alsonot agitate or spin. However on some models this can vary. The best thing to do if you have a suspected bad lid switch is to test it. It can fail electrically and or mechanically. If mechanical failure is the issue, you should be able to see if it is cracked, broken, or not in place to make contact with the lid. To test it electrically, use a multimeter set on Ohms and test it for continuityMy advice is free cuz God is good!

Thanks for the advice, very helpful. It turned out to be the pump and the filter clogged up. All cleaned up and ok.

SOURCE: Washing machine will not drain.

Hi Simon,
I am not that familiar with the Miele brand, but it is possibly a stuck valve. I have had this problem on an AEG and the problem was resolved by cleaning the filter which was totally clogged with fluff and coins left in pockets! I am not sure if yours has a filter. If it does you might look for a rather large screw out filter, usually on the lower front area for easy access. Good luck!

SOURCE: Wash machine agitates but won't

Yes, the problem is the pump filter which is hidden behind the lower front panel. To access the filter, unscrew three screws at the bottom of the panel and carefully remove the lower front panel. Make sure to unplug the machine. With the panel removed you will see the pump filter. Get a bucket and some towels ready, because when you open the filter, you may get a gallon plus of water coming out. GE failed to put this in the use and care manual for the 6260. But low an behold, GE put an access door and explicit instructions on cleaning the pump filter in the updated 6400.

You may have burned out your washer pump. That is what happened to me. The machine would not drain or spin properly and so I kept pushing the blinking start/pause button to get it going again. Then it finally did not drain at all. I installed a new pump and with the cleaned filter, the machine worked like new. For some, simply cleaning the filter allows the pump to work properly. As the filter gets clogged the pump has to work harder and harder to pump out the water. When this happens the cycle times get extended . One symptom of a clogged filter is the final minute (spin cycle) takes much longer. Obviously this is a "design flaw" that GE "fixed" in the recent version of the 6260.

My Samsung washing machine is stuck at the rinsing cycle, it does not drain. Can the water level faulty pressure sensor cause it?

Yes, a faulty water level pressure sensor can cause a washing machine to get stuck at the rinsing cycle and not drain. The water level pressure sensor is responsible for detecting the water level in the washing machine tub and signaling the control board to activate the drain pump to remove the water. If the pressure sensor is faulty and cannot detect the water level, it may not signal the control board to activate the drain pump, causing the washing machine to get stuck in the rinsing cycle.
To troubleshoot this issue, you can try the following steps:
  1. Turn off the washing machine and unplug it from the power source.
  2. Locate the water level pressure sensor, which is typically located on the side of the washing machine tub.
  3. Check the wiring and connections to make sure they are secure and not damaged.
  4. Use a multimeter to test the continuity of the water level pressure sensor. If the sensor is faulty, it will need to be replaced.
  5. If the sensor appears to be working properly, check the drain pump and hoses for clogs or obstructions.
  6. Reconnect the washing machine and run a cycle to see if the issue has been resolved.
If you are unsure about performing any of these steps or if the issue persists, it is recommended to contact a qualified technician for assistance.

Just had the exact same issue with my F&P it would stay in the drain cycle(without draining). It would show 2 minutes left in the cycle, dropping to 1 minute, but would never complete the cycle.
For some reason the machine would not drain the water from the drum and would continually remain in the drain cycle, spinning the load(back & forth), but not draining the water.
----------
This is how I sorted the machine: -
1. I turned off & unplugged the machine.
2. I drained the machine manually. Opening the manual drain compartment located at the bottom right of the machine.
a). Firstly drained the majority of the water using the small black hose into a plastic container(ice cream container will be fine). Took a little while as the machine was quite full and I also didn't want to flood the laundry.
b). Once I had drained most of the water I undid the filter plug to drain the remainder of the water, which wasn't too much & was able to mop up with a towel. I gave the filter a good clean, removing as much build up in there(which in actuality was very little lint, gunk, etc. Though I did find a small button & a collar stay wedged in there).
3). I blew very hard into the washing machine drain hose a few times(read this on another forum so thought I'd give it a try!). Use a plastic bag, etc. to cover the hose etc. for hygiene purposes :)
4). I then plugged & turned on the machine. The machine went straight back into the 2 minute drain cycle. It attempted to drain/pump remaining water, however this time machine successfully went through the 2 minute drain cycle. Machine stopped, counted down, click and I was able to open the door.
I put the washing through a rinse setting to see whether the machine would complete cycle. I can happily report that the machine completed the rinse cycle on the washing with no issues. I also put through another load to see if it would complete a full wash cycle, which I can report it happily did so.
This may have just saved me a grand$ :)
Good luck.
cheers

My wash goes through a full washing cycle but when its time for the water to drain to begin spinning and rinse, it won't drain the water just remains in the washer. what can i do?

If the unit is does not make any sound like a motor running, check the lid switch. If you do get motor noises, check the pump, it may have something stuck in the hose or in the pump.
