Hello have a inverter LG Airconditioner and it keeps turning itself off and showing the letters C6? Any ideas

LG Split System Air Conditioner Error code = C6 or CH06 LG AC Fault Definition = Excessive current at inverter DC power circuit - DC Peak Power
Flashing Light = 6
Display = Indoor Outdoor
Indoor Operation = SHUTDOWN
There are several things that can cause this,, first step is to check all wiring connections, but this can be pointing to a more major issue, the AC to DC transformer,,

The first thing i'll say is you will need to get it repaired by a technician and i strongly recommend you not to do it by urself.

Remote control units have diagnostic program in the
control, after 3 to 5 minutes of operating if the diagnostic
tools detect abnormal operation, then its shutdown the unit
to protect from damage. Thermistor sensor is one of the
parts that detect the operation of the unit. Out of range
or defective thermistor can shut the operation of the unit.
- If your indoor and outdoor is clean start the unit in cool mode and monitor the outdoor pipes. If your suction pipe is icing or dry then your unit is under charge, but if your suction is cold and sweating then the system is ok and sure that the thermistor sensor is defective.
- Out of range thermistor sensor in both return air and freeze up sensor can cause the tripping “off “ the unit.

I'm seeing a c6 as a outlet pipe temp sensor fault. The temp sensor on the larger copper needs replaced.

Hello, I have an LG Inverter Air Conditioner - 24BTU and it is only turning on on the inside unit. When I look on the out side unit and I see a 'red light' on and no working.
Do you know what the problem could be?

I previously asked you, if the C6 appear on the unit or on the hand held remote. I contacted a friend of mine who is a service technician for the LG Split System units and he advised that it's an error code that can only be solved by a LG trained service tech or LG itself. It may have been caused by a power surge, which may have caused some damage to the circuit board.

i can figure out what model a/c you have from this discription/ is this a lg floor mod. or window model or lg duckless split system

one comon problem causing faut is dirty filter or condensor but hard to figure if i cant place the unit disciption.

6 - DC Peak Error

• Supplied power is not normal

• Comp Connector (CN-U,V,W) is disconnected or inserted to wrong

position

• Compressor is damaged (coil short) ? replace compressor

• Too much Refrigerant
• Defect in outdoor pcb assembly ? replace pcb assembly


Try turning power off to external unit, usually resets diagnostics and runs OK. If not PCB external unit likely culprit, replace!
