I am not familiar with this model, but on most sets you will have a button on the remote to activate pip, when active you should be able to adjust channels on the small display with the remote and cycle through inputs. depending on the tv you will either have 2 inputs for your cable/sat/tv feed, or will have 1 with a dual tuner. check the connections in the back for a second cable input, or hook up a dvd/vcr/game console/etc to test the pip. start dvd or tape playing, press pip button to display the mini-screen, then use the tv/vcr or input button to cycle through the modes and see if one pops up. most tvs that have pip will also have a swap button on the remote, it may be labeled with text, or it may just look like one screen overlaying another, press that one to swap between displays.

The TV requires two inputs to use the PIP function. Your setup box Has multiple outputs, but the same picture comes out of all of them. The only way you can use PIP in your TV is to split the signal and connect it to both the set-top box and the TV. However; you will not receive the additional channels that the setup box picks up unless you use 2.
Some set top boxes already have PIP built in. If it does you can view a PIP display even if your TV does not have that feature. Because the cable box has 2 tuners built in they are designed to do two different things at one time. If yours has PIP capability they will proudly and prominently tell you about it in the instruction manual..
PIP or picture in picture works in two ways with the original remote--new sets with this actually have two tuners in them, one for main picture and one for PIP picture, you can change channels in both, swap the PIP to the main picture or even have both side by side.
Sure its got the PIP? what is brand and model number ?
Hi nikkicollier,
PiP for your TV works between two different sources. This means between a component source and an HDMI source or between an HDMI source and another HDMI source. PiP also works with a PC connection, e.g. when using the TV as a computer display. PiP does not work between two component sources. The setting will be grayed out when you don't have a configuration that is supported, as the Samsung TV's are usually able to automatically detect which sources are plugged in and available.
I'm not exactly sure what sort of configuration you want your PiP to work in, but try one of the following configurations.
TV Cable (through VCR or other via Component input) with Satellite in PiP (via HDMI input)
PS3 (via HDMI Input) with Satellite in PiP (via Component Input)
Wii via HDMI Input) with PS3 in PiP (via HDMI Input)
You can usually find an HDMI cable for much cheaper at an electronics supplies shop, Radio Shack, or on eBay or Gumtree. To change your PiP settings:
Press the MENU button on the remote control. Select Picture and press Enter.
Select PIP and press Enter.
Press the enter button again, and press up or down to change the setting to On and press enter again. Note: If PIP is activated the screen will display in widescreen (16:9 aspect ratio.)
Press the up or down buttons to select the Source then press the Enter button. Select the source of the sub-picture by pressing the up and down arrows and then pressing the Enter button. Note: The sub-picture can serve different source selections based on the what the main source is set to. Note: You may notice that the picture in the PIP window becomes slightly unnatural when you use the main screen to view a game or karaoke.
The PIP (picture-in-picture) setting can easily be reversed if you look on your tv for the PIP button or for the same button on your remote. If neither of these works then you may want to check your TV's operation manual for the PIP setting .
Let me know what you find out, I have a similar problem. I can get the PIP screen to come up but it will not allow me to have it on an input that actually shows a picture - just blue screen.
Order a new TV....thats what I have to do. I have the Protron 42", and I cant get any sound, and I cant get the remote to work. Figures, too.....the TV JUST passed its warranty period by 4 days! I havent seen any positive things said about this company, either.
