When I turn on TV, the left side of the screen is blurred(about 20% of the screen). When an image moves across the blurred area, it appears like what the "Flash" would look like with a tailing and fading image. After several hours with the TV on, the screen appears normal. I have the back of the TV off exposing different component boards, but I need help to identify which component to change. Also when I change channels, any channel information that is in the blurred area from the previous channel fades very slowly. Can you help?
HI,
Probably the t con broad is faulty. t con board id the on which drives the LDC panel. I some tvs its not possible to replace the T con board as it would be integrated to the LCD panel normally in 32 inches and bellow. In others i would be separate board which is replaceable individually. I have added a video to know how to locate a t con board which is replaceable individuality. As you didn't mentioned the model number its not possible to add the exact image. In all most all the tvs T con Board (individuality replaceable one ) will be placed on the top center of the tv cover with a metal shield. If its incinerated to the LCD panel then inside the LCD protection metal chassis. Check and fin which one you have.

SOURCE: I have a sharp aquos tv. If i leave the tv paused,
Sharp does not build plasma tv's. Its an LCD and yes older LCD's do get burn-in also. Its not as bad as Plasma, it is a bit of a problem it ruins the LCD panel. If out of warranty when this happens turn off Tv and allow it to cool down a bit, if in warranty have the replaced the panel.
Hope this help

The processor of the tv locks up because it suddenly becomes incapable of correctly processing the signal data - it crashes.
Since this is an intermittent problem that appears when a big spike in power is required from the source that means that the problem is caused by a dip in the voltage powering the processor - the power source has aged and it's no longer capable of delivering a steady supply.
You must open the tv, locate the power source and refurbish it: start by replacing all capacitors, then check the rectifiers, then the zenner diodes and finally the stabilizers.

Three suggestions:
1. Try to hook cable direct without box to see if same problem---ie the box might cause this problem.
2. Check to see if it does it with DVD or when you change active inputs.
3. If number one contact cable provider as box may be your problem.

Check the main filter capacitors at its power regulator board. Replace if found bulged or damaged. Replace all secondary side supply rails' filter capacitors too. The fault is with damaged electrolytic capacitors at the power regulator board itself.
