Needs freon. where do i put it

Oh no. Most of these systems do not come from the factory with service ports that allow you to add R-134a. You will need to buy a clamp on piercing valve then add the refrigerant. The leak is most likely in the evaporator coil where the wine is stored, and the R-134a will leak out again soon. Replacement or repairing the leak will take care of the issue, also the weight in ounces of refrigerant should be on the data tag of the unit next to the model number. Try not to exceed the recommended charge.

WAS TOLD TO TRASH VCWB300 WINE COOLER BECAUSE OF FREON LEAK VERY SUSPICIOUS

Do you know what type of freon it is? And how old of a unit is it? Why was the service technician initially called?

I have a frigidare #PLKU1267DSO kegbox. the compressor runs and gets hot but the box will not cet cold at all. the coils inside also have rust on them

Your keg box runs very similar to a Wine Cooler. I believe this can help you. The pressure for the freon and the steps for trouble shooting is he same. Give it a try.

How do you add freon?

adding freon is not the answer unless you can prove you have lost some. The unit is hermetically sealed so should not lose freon unless you have punctured the system and the gas has escaped. you will probably need a fridge expert to test and check over the system.

How do I replenish the Freon in my Sillouette model DWC283BLS?

you legally can't unless you are e.p.a. certified to purchase the type of freon in the unit and you have the equipment to do so,by law you need to evacuate the sealed system, then pressurize system with nitrogen and a small amount of r22freon,find the leak, recapture nitrogen/r22 and repair leak, then recharge unit with correct amount of correct refrigerant it needs, the equipment to do so is very expensive too

Unit was leaking at rear coil, sealed the leak but know it needs freon. Can it be added?

All fridges, freezers, coolers, etc need access ports added to them before any refrigerant can be added to them. Makes you wonder how they do that eh?
