First of all make sure that whatever source you are using (cable tuner box, satellite receiver, dvd player, etc) is connected properly to the TV. If that checks out make sure that you don't have the mute function is turned on. Normally the TV will display a picture of a speaker in a circle with a line through it to let you know that mute is turned on. If you are trying to just watch TV using cable or satellite, make sure your TV is not set to SAP (Second Audio Program). If you don't already have the manual, follow this URL (just paste it in your address bar), and it will take you to a pdf version of your manual.

Toshiba tv cinema series hd speakers

Check its speaker/s first. If found OK, check and replace damaged component/s at its audio output section circuit. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Pull up older posts.

Rainbow line on the top of the screan

you most likely have a defective optical engine. these usually become defective around the time the lamp needs to be replaced but not in every case.

Samsung Series 6 TV - cannot get TV to go through Home cinema speakes

Ok, the Audio can only be transfered to the HT if it is connected via something other than the HDMI, (the HDMI is just 1 way accept for the Anynet function (which is great with the 6 series. I have the LE52-A656))

The audio can be transfered via component cables but you will get the best out of your system using an optical cable. The main reason for optical is it ability to transfer 5.1. Only problem is the Samsung does not output 5.1!! bugger!! one you have connected it via the optical too. just set the HT to D-IN and you should be goo to go! :) There maybe something i have missed but Im at work at the mo but let me know how you get on :)

Toshiba TP50H95 TV Won't turn on - Pete

You will need to trouble shoot the start up and shutdown circuits. Often this is a minor component failing causing the set to not power up or go into protective shutdown. Do you have the service manual for this TV?

Trying to install a new 50

a good way to go is to connect the home cinema kit staight to the tv though phono leads, see if your tv has a phono in and out this must not be a av socket. you should then connect it in to your cinema kit so what ever you watch comes though ur cinema system

hope this helps
