If it is doing this during normal use, try using the little control buttons on the monitor itself to navigate through its configuration menu and try to find anything about screen savers, power saving, shut down, anything like this, and disable it all. And set everything else to AUTO if available. :>)

LCD Monitor problems.....

Acer are great products, I have had lots and all worked well.
There are no user serviceable parts on these flat panel's..
Use your warranty if available. This is why buying the extended warranty on expensive electronics is a good policy.
Find a nearby electronics repair shop and get it checked over.

Hp g72-227wm has a broken lcd screen i have a hp compaq le1711 vga flat screen hooked to my lap top it was doing fine i log off out of windows and shut down the pc when i turn it back on the flat screen...

Check monitor is set to correct input (VGA, DVI, HDMI) if it goes to sleep instantly.

Otherwise screen resolution is set too high. Boot into safe mode by pressing F8 during boot. Login and lower screen resolution.

Montior screen is half shaded and half bright

Do this to check if your monitor is in working state or not...!

Step 1:- Turn on your computer.
Step 2:- Unplug the Video Cable of your monitor which is connected with the computer.

( Video cable:- Cable going from the back of your monitor to the back of your tower. It has a plug with two screws on the plug ends, which you can unscrew to unplug it. Thats how it looks like. Some times it is in grey in color some times in blue.)

Step 3:- Now check on your monitor. If the display says " No Input Signal " :- your monitor is fine. Some thing wrong with the computer graphics.
If there is not display and the monitor light is blinking or solid the monitor has gone bad.

( Note :- Remember when you unplug the video cable do not unplug the power cable of the monitor. )

Let me know if it helps.

Power on - blank (black) screen

Disconnect the monitor signal cable from PC and switch on your monitor. It should show some logo with Red, Green and Blue colors with a message similar to "No signal". If so, your monitor is working fine. Sometimes if the brightness and contrast is set to zero using controls present in the monitor, it will not show up anything. check wheather somebody set your monitor brightness and contrast to zero. If so incease them. As a last try connect to different PC and check before approaching a service center. I hope this will help you out. :)

Monitor won't work after computer starts up

You need to be sure that your unit is unplugged first before connecting PC. You will see all of your startup settings on your PC. In order to view the desktop on your monitor (does not work on Mac OS) press CTRL+F5. Anoption box will appear and by holding CTRL button and pressing F5 you will see your options change.

No screen image

You gonna need an spare monitor, video card and a memory card. But first have the RAM card and the video card(if plug in) be clean or reseat. Use clean soft eraser to clean its edge connector, both side. And check your video card for dirt or stock fan if it have. Do this cleaning when unit is off and unplugged to wall socket even UPS. Also reseat the monitor cable. Then try to power it up again.

Next step;

And since it beeps it seems one component is failing or loosing its contact with the board. Then use the spare ram, then the spare card, if still not viewing any try to swap the monitor.

Or if you have no spare if cleaning only doesn't help, its practical to bring it to the expert.

Montiors shut off

if the monitor goes into standbye when you plug it into the computer , it generally means there is NO signal coming from your video adaptor.
Plug the old monitor in , if it works, ide suspect the new monitor(s) are not working correctly.
if it doesnt work , you need to restart the computer in safe mode by repettitively tapping the f8 button as the computer starts, before it says "starting windows".
If you have a signal on your monitor in safe mode, then most likely you have a bad or corrupted video driver and it will need to be updated.
if you have no video in safe mode , you will need to remove the cover and physiclly check that all add-in card power cables and memory chips are squarly seatied in there slots. MAKE SURE YOU UNPLUG THE COMPUTER AND DISCHARGE ANY STAIC BUILDUP IN YOURSELF BY GROUNDING (TOUCHING) SOMETHING METAL BEFORE YOU TOUCH ANYTHING INSIDE THE COMPUTER.

AFTER YOU CHECK THESE THINGS AND TRECONNECT THE POWER AND TRY TO START......POST AGAIN HERE
