I have a hp2009m flat monitor and hp a1473w

I have a hp2009m flat monitor and hp media specialist tower, my problem is that every thing works fine until we shut them down, the tower works but the monitor says it is going into sleep mode and then the screen goes black. We have another tower that we can plug the monitor up to and it takes off and works fine. So I am thinking that I have a problem with the port that the monitor plugs into. Can I replace just that port, or is the whole thing something that I can replace?

Everything seems to be working as normal.. that is just a message and it happens with some of the monitors.. you don't have to worry about it..

Hp2009m monitor has lines going across it. How do I get rid of them?

Needs to be seen to by an HP technician as faulty parts need to be replaced.

First test this screen on another computer to make sure it's the screen that is faulty and not your computer.

My hp2009m monitor goes into sleep mode

Monitors are programmed to go to sleep when there is no input. If you shut it down on the other "tower" also it will do the same. You need to physically hit the power button on the monitor to actually shut it off.

Last week I purchased a HP monitor (HP2009m) from Office Depot, and installed it. Everything is working fine except when I open and E-Mail. It's only scrolling down about a page and a quarter. I'm using...

Try going into the screen menu using the pushbuttons on the monitor and it should let you automatically adjust the screen. Don't change any settings on your computer or email. There are some factory presets built-in to the monitor. Try different ones. Here's a link to the manual if you don't have one:

Moniter is only shows self test e173fpc

It sounds like your video card may be kaput. Can you try another monitor on it? If you use a monitor that you know works, and it does the same thing - then your video card has failed.

Alternately, you can try a different card and the same monitor.
