Comment: Samsung TFT-LCD Television Model # LN- 840410 SN: AEHX3CLL803329N When we turn the TV and Cable on we get both picture and audio. After just a couple of minutes, the picture goes BLACK, but the audio stays. So we turn EVERYTHING OFF, and wait a few minutes, again turn on the cable box and the TV and the picture and audio both are on. After a few minutes we lose the picture again. We always have sound, but keep losing the picture no matter how many times we turn it off and on. What part do we need to purchase, to repair. The main board? I watched the tutorial on how to replace and I'm sure I can do that if that is the problem. Please send me feedback ASAP and direct me to the part that we would need to purchase. Thank you for help in this matter. Charlotte Deets [email protected]
Don't know what service provider you have, free to air, satellite, cable or what? Try feeding the TV another signal and see what it does. Play recorder movie from DVD, or if you have a VCR around even try that. If it plays the DVD etc, with no issues, then TV is not the problem, most likely the cable box, satellite box etc, could be as simple as a bad cable connection at the house, a splitter or street box. Eliminate all the simple things first, then look at the TV.
The video board is going out
Testimonial: "Thank You Bob. Question for you. Is the 'Video Board' the same thing as the 'Main Board' I have been watching a tutorial as to how to replace the main board which controls the video and audio. So when I want to order a part, do I ask for 'Video Board" or Main Board?"
At this point I would agree the video board is causing the problem, more precisely one of the chips etc, is going thermal (i.e. overheating and cutting out). To try an locate the problem try getting a bottle of freeze spary and spray the chips when the problem occurs when you hit the right chip/area the video will come back again. That amy at least tell you which section of which borad is causing the problem. Check the link: http://www.crc.co.nz/Automotive-Cleaners...
A chip is soldered on the video board and usually causes problems to the rest of the circuits. If you have power and audio to the set then the video board is what you want to order good luck ps here in Ohio we have a mcm parts warehouse you can order from an pick up from, saves time and money on shipping
