SOURCE: HP Officejet 5110 - Carriage Jam Message
I have an Hp Officejet 5110. I have an error message saying "Open door, clear carriage jam, then press enter". But where is its door? How can I clear the carriage jam?
I tried pressing the # & 6 at the same time, but the error message still there.

Check the plastic strip that you'll see along the carriage track. Make sure it's clean. Take a soft cloth and dampen it. Run it up and down the strip and make sure it's clean. If there's any ink on it, it could cause carriage jams. The strip has tiny lines on it which tell the electronics where the carriage is. If the strip is dirty, you'll get jam messages and sometimes the carriage will slam against one end or the other.

Here's what you do. Take a look at the photo below.
Open the cover of the printer, where the ink cartridges are located. Behind the ink cartridges is the carriage, which is a box that moves side-to-side on a pair of rails. It's the thing that sprays the ink onto the paper.
You have to reach in with your hand and slide this thing to the center. Then, look to the very sides, left and right, for any bits of paper. If you look at the second picture, you can see my finger pointing to a small bit of paper that tore of and got jammed into the side. See the little crumpled bit of paper? It's preventing the carriage from sliding all the way to the right. You could have little bits on the right or left side. I had to reach in with needle-nose pliers to grab the paper bits out, but maybe your fingers are small enough.
Once the little bits of paper were out, I was back in business. Good luck!

HI ayyasamyr:
This your problem.
13.10 PAPER JAM The event log message for a paper-delay jam in the duplexer is 13.10.
1. Check the duplexer and the rear area of the printer for obstructions or damage.
2. Check PS1701 and PS1703 in the duplexer for correct operation. Replace the
duplexer if a sensor is defective.
Hope this helps
SOURCE: weird noise from printer carriage
The loud clicking noise is probably the carriage trying to move and something is keeping it from doing so. Check to see there are no foriegn objects obstructing the carriage head from moving across the paper.
If nothing is found, then likely a hardware error exists.
hope this helps!
