tried changing the cables or check if there is a firmware available for your tv

Has your pin been changed or reset? It may be that your pin is now the last 4 digits on your sky viewing card (in your Skybox). If this was always the case then it sounds like you (or someone in your home) has either deliberately or accidentally changed the pin so a call to Sky is your only way round this.
Hopefully the last 4 digits on the Sky Viewing card will work

If you did forget the PIN of Samsung LE19R8, do the following.
Press the remote control button in the following sequence, which resets the PIN to [0-0-0-0]:
POWER(Off), MUTE,8,2,4, POWER(On).
This process will set your PIN to initial settings, and you have to set it to new passcode. OK.

i have my pc hooked up to my 42" lcd tv and all i did was run the vga cable from pc to tv and put the tv on pc setting and all works great

I FORGOT MY TV PIN PLS HELP ME.

I had the same problem and nothing worked for me until I changed laptop settings to NTSC_M
So, briefly what I have: S-Video to S-Video cable, laptop (Thinkpad R51, Windows XP, with Intel(R) extreme graphics controler ) and TV set (Samsung, quite old one). The problem was that after connecting my laptop S-Video (4 pin) with S-Video (4 pin) of my TV, I had black and white (no colour) picture.
Solution is the folowing:
- connect your laptop and TV (both S-video 4 pins)
- mouse right click on your laptop desktop screen
- in the popup menu select: 'Graphics Properties'
- "Output to"
- select "TV"
- properties "NTSC_M"

keep in mind that if your are not connected to TV, Graphics Properties don't show TV as an option. So, that was very confusing for me, as I saw similar solution somewhere but was not able to find NTSC_M settings on my laptop
