It's possible that you have an air lock in your lines somewhere. Your radiators should have a know that you can turn to bleed air from your system.

SOURCE: boiler overheating

the problem there a relay stuck or thermostat bring on the pump & you can lower your high limit aquastat!! also the flow valves can bypass hot hot water risers time to put in a seperate water heater domestic coil are not energy efficient !!!! aquastat high limit set @ 180f deg low limit set @ 140f deg!!!
good luck!!! tim

SOURCE: boiler keeps losing pressure when the heatings off

Hi Leehardcast,

Yes the problems are related. The system is low on water. So now instead of water you have air in radiators which is easily compressed when it heats up. Then pressure loss when it cools down.

Add some water to your system until you have 15lb pressure and bleed out upstairs radiators at the same time.

Please rate this response and Good luck, Phil

SOURCE: alpha 240e boiler wont fire up for hot water, will for heating

most likely the diverter valve.. when hot tap turned on the movement of the water through the valve operates a diaphragm which pushes a pin/button//switch to tell the boiler to fire up

SOURCE: no hot water have amtrol boilermate

There is a device on the boilermate called an aquastat which controls the flow of hot water into it. Replace that and you should be up and running again. Joe.

Ariston euro-combi boiler not giving hot water

odd noise like popping or singeing fire....clicking noises.....sounds like you have a water leak putting out the pilot.......or your thermo coupling is bad....or the noise is the tank full of calcium buildup and that will make noises when the burner is on

No central heating back boiler

back boiler run from a gas fire? check the instructions to operate the gas heat to the back boiler not just the fire
I presume that this a fully pumped system - air lock doubtful There maybe on/off valves on the pipes to and from the back boiler [situate close to cylinder] make sure they are on - anticlockwise turn
or there could be a blockage in the outlet from header tank usually in the loft. or If there is no water in it maybe the mains cold feed it is off.
Note if no water in it DO NOT USE the back boiler

Heating pressure gauge goes up

yes tami
there should be a pressure rellief valve fitted.
it also sounds like the heat exchanger is blocked if the hot water is not as good as it used to be and the boiler reaches temperature too quickly then there is scale in the heat exchanger and needs to be cleaned or replaced
