Cant find driver for SimpleTech 250gb external hd. Is it available?

Should not be necessary. It is recognized by the system automatically. Try connecting to another port, check the data cable and the connection to the unit, it may be corroded or loose.

USB Port Speeds

Usually it's best to consult manufacturer's info on your computer. If not available, you can check it by going to start menu>settings>control panel>system>device manager and then look for "universal serial bus controllers" - several devices should be visible here and if you have USB2 it will be clearly stated (e.g. something along the lines of "USB2 Enhanced Host Controller").
Generally I would say if your computer is less than 4-5 years old, it will probably have USB2.
Hope this helps,

ASUS P4SDX USB Ports not recognized as USB2 HS Ports

The message comes up when a USB 2 device is connected to a slower USB 1 or 1.1 port. It is only to advise you that the devise will operate faster on a USB 2 port. If your computer has only USB 1 or 1.1 ports, you will always see the message. You can buy and install a card with USB 2 ports and install it. It will come with the USB 2 drivers. Install the card and the drivers and then connect your USB 2 device to the new hardware and you should not see the message anymore.

Good luck, And let me know ho it works out for you.

Usb ports

Go into your Device Manager (you didn`t say which OS).
Under USB you should have something like Enhanced Host controller.
That is USB2.
If you haven`t got it, your on USB1.
Normally if you only have USB1, and you plug a USB2 capable
device in, you will be told `this device could perform faster`.
