When i go to the menu to finalize the disc its greyed out
What program you are using?
It could be that the disc is already been finalized, or software glitch. You can try burn DVD on PC with a professional DVD/Blu-ray burning program, in most cases you don't have to finalize the disc manually to make it playable on a DVD player.

Either the disc is already finalized or there isn't enough space on the disc for finalization. Check if you have Auto-finalize enabled. Press Setup and go to the line "General Settings" with the up/down arrows. Press Enter. Then select Recording and Enter. Go to the Auto Finalize line and press Enter. Check both Disc Full and End of Timer Rec and see if these are set to On or Off. This option is explained on page 27 of the manual (page 29 of the PDF available from Funai Service http://www.funaiservice.com/manuals/SYLVANIA/ZC320SL8/ZC320SL8.PDF ). Remember that the finalization takes 20-50 MB on the disc.
