Monitor worked until a couple of days ago. Now when I turn on monitor - power on indicator is "green"; display goes from pitch black to a "slight" bit of illuminance. and that's all that happens regardless of the buttons I press on the monitor. So, I can't get at the built-in menu system because I can't see anything on the monitor.
Note that Power On indicator stays "green" as long as monitor is supplied with an input signal. There is no "No Signal" indication when the signal source is turned off.
I have tried the monitor on three computers using different Video cables, with the same results.
Thanks in advance for you advice on this.
The inverter/ballast board is defective, the back-light (fluorescent) may flash once each time the monitor is turned on. There's no problem with the video board. Once the green light is on, video signal is detected.

I am using this great LCD for about an year. But few times in the past my LCD didnt show up the display though the Green light was still ON, turning off the LCD and opening it again always solved the problem. But now My LCD completely went blank. Turning off/on didnt work at all now. I've tried couple of other tweaks mentioned on this site but they didnt work. I am just seeing a blank screen with green light ON. and ya theres a very low hissing sound coming from the LCD.
Look to see if you do have 12~18vdc feeding the backlight inverter board (located on the left side of the monitor), it can also have blown fuses on the inverter board. Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further, this is really old monitor, 2002.
Often problems with LCD monitors can be traced to bad capacitors. The following sites will help you identify if your monitor has bad capacitors, and how to replace them.

Ive seen this on other monitors. Look for a 1 and 2. Some monitors do NOT auto detect a signal, and this one might not. Look for a way to set the monitor from Digital input to VGA input. Try that and see.
it looks like the Inverter's gone in your screen, it works like a starter in a florescent tube, it 'kick starts' your screen to come on. Turning it on/off many times eventually 'kick starts' your screen and makes it come on eventually.

while the monitor is still powered on, but with the LED flashing, unplug the monitor from the PC. press the power button, and the monitor should go off, now plug the pc back into the monitor. Turn the monitor back on and it should work.
Occasionally this will not work for me, but if I repeat it it normally works
Hope this helps - my problem is intermitant so it may be different to what u guys have
An all too common problem with lcd's, you would think they would be more reliable after being on the market for years, alas they are not.
See if it does the same thing on a friends PC if you are able; if so the you will know the lcd is faulty.
