Question about ViewSonic VX924 19" LCD Monitor
I have had the ViewSonic VX924 for about 1.5 years. Just this morning when I moved the mouse to wake up the monitor, the screen flashed an image for a split second and then went blank. However, I noticed that the green LED flashes as well. I have plugged in other computers to the monitor and all display the same result. They work fine on a different monitor. I have read in the manual a working that too high a resolution and refresh rate can "permanently damage" the monitor. Any help appreciated.
While the monitor is still powered on, but with the LED flashing, unplug the monitor from the PC. press the power button, and the monitor should go off, now plug the pc back into the monitor. Turn the monitor back on and it should work.
Occasionally this will not work for me, but if I repeat it it normally works
Hope this helps - my problem is intermitant so it may be different to what u guys have

What I did with this problem:
since i have a nvidia card i went into the nvidia control panel and use the other monitor as a single monitor and then pushed apply after that i just set up dual monitor again and it worked and you dont have to reboot you system.

After the monitor has been turned off, along with my PC, if I turn on
the monitor at the same time that I turn on the PC it will go black,
with a slight flickering, and the power button flashes on and off. I
can't even turn off the monitor when it's started to do that. I power
off the PC to get the power light back on on the monitor and can then
power it off.
However, if I don't turn on the monitor until XP has had time to get to
the full resolution login screen, which I can tell by the hard disk
activity light on the PC, then when I turn on the mon it works fine.
And doesn't flicker. This means I can't get to see the pre-boot screens
and it's most annoying.

Same Problem. I have a dual monitor setup (one 922 the other a 924). The 922 works fine with either cable through either display card port.
If I press the number 2 button on the monitor the display shows the expected screen for about 1 sec then goes black again.
Same Problem with mine....I'd say about a year old.
vew sonic LCD monitor goes black. if the monitor is turned off and then the computer is turned off then the computer is turned on and allowed to fully boot. turn the monitor on and it works fine.
mine flashes on boot, I get the post beep and I know it boots but the led is just flashing green on the monitor. Changed cpu, mobo, & psu.
Hi I have VX924 monitor, when switched on the screen displays for about 1 second then goed black. Monitor green light stays solid. I have checked both DVI and D connector no diffrence. I am able to power pc down by multiple pressing on the screen enough times to power down thru mouse clicks. Greatful for any feedback thanks
