Whirlpool top load washer

I replaced the transmission because it leaks and made a loud noise, now it works fine except when it goes into the spin cycle it sounds like there,s a bowling ball in the tub. With the tub empty in the spin cycle if I open the lid and by pass the safety and apply a little pressure to the top of the agitator while it spins the noise goes away. I,ve pulled the transmission a dozen times and rotated it, but I can,t see where that makes any difference. What else could be the problem? This noise is totally different than the noise it made before.

Check to be sure inner tub is not spinning freely on spin tube. It can be noisy when this happens. When it's spinning and stops it may continue spinning for a bit when this happens. You usually need to replace spin tube, because the tabs that key into drive block for inner tub break off. Also replace drive block.

Machine making loud noise on spins cycle

Well, the only time the washer (speedqueen) is noisy on spin is if one or both the bearings are faulty. Normally when you get a leak, it means the hub/flange and seal kit need replacement and this also includes the top bearing because when soap suds leak past the seal assembly it drips directly onto the bearing. The acidic properties in the soap suds eats the grease in the bearing which ends up becoming defective. One can also get an anoying squeek if a bottom base gasket is worn or removed. This would be audible even on wash cycle.Conclusion, check the bearing on top of gearbox.

I own a whirlpool top loading washer - under 2 years old. it stopped draining water and spinning. replaced the timer and now it works fine, but now when the washer finishes spinning, the agitator stops...

depending on your exact mode;
sounds like a brake, or a clutch
those are really only two parts it could be
on the whirlpool the brake is part of the transmission on the direct drive

Noise in the spin mode on a Amana LWA50AW top load washer

Based on your description, it sounds as if your outer spin bearing is faulty. See link below for an illustration of the bearing. Special tools are required to replace this item.
