Can i install XP on a preinstalled vista OS on Compaq presario c700, and can i get the drivers i need?

You can install XP over Vista if you want. You should be able to get the drivers as well. I believe the instructions for this (if you need them) can be found at HP (Compaq).

Be very certain this is what you want to do before you start. Are you having trouble with your present configuration? It may be easier to fix your trouble than change your OS.

You may want to go to www.pcpitstop.com and have your computer scanned for problems before you start. This is a free service. If you go ahead with the install, go back to PC Pitstop and have it scanned.

Acer Aspire 4315

Yes you will get all the drivers here
http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/notebook/as_4315.html
However only Vista Premium and Vista Ultimate users can perform a direct downgrade. You can start a fresh installation from a bootable disk of WinXP. Be aware that this will replace the Vista with XP.

Hi, I hold a Compaq c740tu notebooke PC with the pre installed windows vista. I face problems on running certain softwares and hence would like to downgrade to Windows XP. I managed to get almost all...

Yes do not downgrade or you Will have problems. Microsoft is planning to stop support for xp in the future and already have a new OS-7 coming out to replace vista. A lot of software that does not say it is for xp will work on vista. Just because it does not say for vista does not mean it will not work on vista. Good Luck. I love Xp too but I will not downgrade to go back because microsoft is only going to make it obsolete in the future.
please rate my thank You.
