How do you get the Toshiba L300 Web Camera to work?

Have you upgraded the OS? Try a restore to a date before this issue. OR a Recovery.

Need the full model number from the bottom of the laptop, it'll be something like "L300-EZ1525"

From there you can go to the toshiba website and look for the camera drivers.

Go to: http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/home.jsp
Click the blue Download link
Select Laptop in the left category,
Select Satellite Pro in the next category,
Select L300-XXXXXXX replacing the X's with your specific model,
Then hit go.

On the next page you get a long list of downloads, click on the drop down that says "All Categories" and select "Driver".

The list is updated with drivers only, look for anything that says Camera, if there are any you may notice it says Windows 7, click that and download that and you should be good to go. Otherwise you can try the one for Windows Vista, if that doesn't work, you'll have to contact Toshiba support by email or phone and see if they have a solution.

"The Webcam is especially easy to use, just move your cursor to the left side of the screen, and the webcam software pops up allowing you to start the camera, control the settings and add fun effects."

If you're missing the driver, this may be it (I'd need the full model number to be sure)

i would suggest you look here. You might need to change your location but look on this site to get you started. it is the toshiba drivers website.

I solved the problem by searching for information on the Toshiba web site and finding the way to do it. Thankyou.

Pls try this one, turn off User Account Control, uninstall Camera Assistant Software from Add Remove Programs, re start notebook, then download new Camera Assistant Software from support.toshiba.com for US Model or toshiba.ca/support for Canadian Model. Install this software, re start the notebook and try, the camera might work this time.
