I have no power to my HP vs 17e. It appears that the fuse is good. Any suggestions? Power cord is good as well. I don't remember a power surge. It sets next to another computer and screen.

Computer was shut down and power turned off. When i restarted the system the printer and monitor came on but the tower is not getting any power. cords are all plugged in and checked outlet works. seems...

Hello,

If the outlet is good and the cord is good, you may have indeed blown the fuse in the power supply. That is the only fuse. The fuse in the power supply is usually "hard-wired". Not necessarily, but usually. You would need someone familiar with them to replace it if it is blown.

Some computers have a green LED on the back of the computer near the power cord. Do you have one? Is it on? You can also look to see if the small green LED is on on the motherboard.

If you get no indication of power, the power supply is probably gone. A new on is about $25 and pretty simple to replace.

Hope this helps.

I have a HP vs 17e monitor with built in speakers. After my hard diak was reformatted these have stopped working. Any way to get them working again?

Are the drivers installed?
Go to Device manager and make sure there is nothing with yellow question mark next to it.
If there is you are missing a driver.
Let me know how it goes.

Hp deskjet 5650 - error states "close cover" -- cover appears to have closed

I'd suggest a power reset. Sometimes the device is unable to recover itself.

From HP's website:
  • Press the Power button (c01602202.gif ) to turn on the product.
  • Disconnect the power cord from the back of the product.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait 15 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the back of the product.
  • Press the Power button (c01602202.gif ) to turn on the product.

HP 6310 needs to reset power. Tried turning off

it may be the power supply itself! have any of you tried using a different power cord? the problem may not be in the printer but in the cord itself. i have 2 hp 6310's that were giving me the 'reset power' error. when i changed the POWER CORD, that error message went away and it went into the insert cartridges mode. good luck.

    HP 5470c scanner

First of all, use a lamp, fan or something to check your electrical outlets. Make sure they are not on a switched circuit, or a power strip that may be turned off. Try unplugging the cord from the scanner and re-inserting it. I don't know if there is a fuse inside the 5470, but I would bet on it. If all else fails and you feel competent to try it, see if you can disassemble the bottom and look for the fuse. Usually sudden problems like this are really something simple (or catastrophic!! :-) Good luck, John

Push Power button, green light goes on for a few seconds then nothing....

I would suggest taking a look at the power module if that can be replaced. The Fuse blowing may have only been the beginning of the problem. Any recent issues with under or over voltage in your home?
