It may be the power supply itself! have any of you tried using a different power cord? the problem may not be in the printer but in the cord itself. i have 2 hp 6310's that were giving me the 'reset power' error. when i changed the POWER CORD, that error message went away and it went into the insert cartridges mode. good luck.

Motherboard problem?

In general it costs more to repair a printer than to replace it. Spares are not easy to get. Sorry.

Master Reset

I don't have a 6310 but I do have 4 printers one of which is a 5610. I never bothered w/ a reset switch because I would just turn the printer off, then unplug everying for 2min. Then I would reconnect everything back. If it doesn't work, I suggest you uninstall the software and reinstall it again. Let me know if this helps.
