We have an LG Tromm WM2487HWM that has an upside down f and e error code. The machine will sometimes start and then quit after about a minute into the run. Unplugging and replugging in does not seem to help. The manual just says to unplug and call for service. Would this be the PCB gone bad or something else?

R u sure it is not an (LE) error code. Kinda looks like an upside down (F)? Very common on older LG washers. Indicates a hall sensor/ motor position sensor error.

could the upside down F be a lower case t. If so the error code is tE and you have a heating problem.

Leave the door open for 24 hrs after wash for Odor problem. You need to clean the rubber gasket around the door with 1:4 Bleach/Water (It's Fun!...Not!) First though. Not draining? You need a New Drain Pump! Go to YouTube and place LG Washer not draining. They have 20 videos on how to repair...Very Easy!

From back or underneath, check that all three shock absorbers are attached. Take top off and check if both springs are in place and un broken

Possible that the drain valve is clogged if the inlet line is working and so you need to remove the drain and back flush.Also check after the power plug is removed for few hours and see if the fault resets to start the machine only to show the error a few minutes later. if so clean the drain lines, check the inlet flow and the door switch.

IE: Water level (246) was not reached in 8 minutes
UE: Imbalance: Load too small, too large objects between tubs
OE: Drain problem took longer than 10 minutes to drain
FE: Overflow issue drain pump running to comp
PE: pressure sensor (sensor out)
dE: door error. open door. switch is out
LE (with a a slash in the
middle of L. Upside down F) Thermistor out
CE: Over amping Too much soap wrong soap
LE: hall sensor shorted/destroyed from sudslock
bE: Ball sensor loose connection/out of order
EE: eeprom out test mode only
PF: power failure momentary interruption of shocktricity

You have a bad control board and will need to be replaced. The relay switch in the board has failed.

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
That's 'te' standing for temperature error/ heating error. Before you call an engineer try emptying the washer then pouring a couple of kettles of boiling water into the drum and leaving for 30 minutes then see. Another thing is to empty a couple of packets of limescale remover into the drum together with a couple of kettles of boiling water (again!) and leaving overnight. It possibly needs de-scaling anyway ;-0) If these fail it will be an engineer call, sorry ;-0(

If the error code is DE, then you need the door lock assembly.
